Please join us at the Richard B. Russell Special Collections auditorium at the University of Georgia for local author and researcher Gary Doster's presentation The Georgia Rail Road Depot on Carr's Hill, documenting the men and machinations who brought this modern form of transportation to Athens in 1840.

Mr. Doster will cover the first 42 years of history of the line that ended at Carr's Hill Depot, until the trestle built over Trail Creek and the North Oconee River finally brought rail cars into the town of Athens. A reception will follow the presentation.
